Evelyn Digirolamo (Ensemble Member since 2013)
Evelyn Digirolamo is an actor creator based in the Twin Cities and company member of Sandbox Theatre. She has a passion for ensemble creating and loves incorporating dance, aerial arts, puppetry, stage combat, rock climbing (yet to happen in a show, but here’s hoping), and doing massive amounts of research. She has also performed with Off-Leash Area, Mad Munchkin Productions, Teatro del Pueblo, Pangea World Theater, The Gonzo Group Theatre, Shakespeare and Company, Historical Perspectives for Children, the Murder Mystery Improv Company, and the Barbara Schneider Crisis Actor Troupe, for whom she does intensive one-on-one scenarios for medical staff and law enforcement to teach de-escalation techniques. She was a co-founder of AEthem Theatre, with whom she created, performed, and directed for 3 years. She performed in the local film Ghost Light which received the award Best Ensemble in a Feature Dramedy at the Best Actor’s Film Festival in San Francisco. Evelyn received her Bachelor Degree in Theater Arts from Bethel University. She is always looking to engage with something physically impossible, thought-provoking, beautiful, and bizarre.
Tim Donahue (Ensemble Member since 2010)
Tim has been composing, directing, and performing music in theater, film, installation, and live performance for the past 17 years. He credits the Fargo public school system for his formal training and sees the subtle but distinct northern mid-west culture as the catalyst to his unique approach to art and life.
After four dynamic years in the abstract and experimental music scene of Minneapolis, Tim started touring a small circuit east of the Mississippi doing sound installation, theater, and audio technician work. This touring came to a close with a yearlong music and culture study in Southeast Asia and India before returning to Minneapolis in 2005. Tim’s artistic efforts continue and grow through music, theater and interactive public art.
Kristina Fjellman (Ensemble Member since 2013)
Kristina is a visual artist and performer and is drawn to creative projects that will combine both of these passions. She has exhibited her sculpture in venues around the Midwest and Twin Cities including DeVos Art Museum, MCAD, the AZ Gallery, Artists in Storefronts, and various local shops. She was also one of the four proud recipients of a Jerome Fiber Art Project Grant for 2010-2011 at the MN Textile Center. Her performance work includes The Theater of the Tiny Clandestines and Birds of Passage with The Winding Sheet Outfit; Works In Progress My Life Is All But Over at the Red Eye Theatre; and with Sandbox, War with the Newts, The Horse, Bird, Monkey, and the Dancer, Suitcase, and This Is a World We Live In.
Kristina is graduate of the College of St. Catherine with a MAED in Art and Theater Education. Upcoming projects include: American Craft Council Show in St. Paul’s Rivercenter for visual art, and performances in My Life Is All But Over full-length production, and Sandbox’s Killer Inside.
Matthew Glover (Ensemble Member since 2010)
Matthew has been writing and performing in the Twin Cities since 1999. He has performed with Sandbox in June of Arc, FARGO, Oh, Father! and This Is A World To Live In. He served as Project Lead for both FARGO and This Is A World To Live In, and directed the company’s film version of June of Arc. In addition, Matthew coordinates the artistic collaborations and artwork for all of Sandbox’s productions. Matthew holds a BA in Theater Arts from the University of Minnesota, and a Broadcasting degree from Brown College.
Peter Heeringa (Ensemble Member since 2010)
Born in Minnesota, but exiled to the southwestern united states for several years, Peter returned to work closely with the Eden Prairie High School drama department, obtain his BA in Theater from the University of Saint Thomas, and has since made his focus the creation of new work within an ensemble structure. In 2012 he received a MFA in Theatre: Contemporary Performance from Naropa University in Boulder, CO. He has worked with students at numerous colleges including Fairfield University, Naropa University, Gustavus, and Macalester. In addition to theatre, Peter has a background in vocal music with a decade of choral music and three years of Barbershop. In addition to Sandbox, he works in performance collaboration Dolan//Heeringa.
Peter has appeared in Zelda: Wonderland, The Horse, Bird, Monkey, and the Dancer, FARGO, Suitcase, and This Is A World To Live In. He provided stage management, assistant direction, and/or assistant stage management for Sandbox’s .Faust, Beatnik Giselle, and Killer Inside.
Ryan Hill (Founding Member since 2004)
Ryan was born and raised in the wilds of Northern Wisconsin. He is a founding member of Sandbox and served as Artistic Director until 2013. He studied at Hamline University in St. Paul before heading to Berlin to work within the experimental theater community. After Germany, he moved to New York and continued writing (including The Ferry, a 2004 Samuel French Off-Off Broadway Play Festival winning play) and performing. He is an alumnus of Robert Wilson’s Watermill summer program in Long Island, and appeared in the U.S. premiere of the Wilson/Tom Waits musical version of Woyzeck at Brooklyn Academy of Music in 2002. Life brought him back to the Midwest in 2003 and he co-founded Sandbox Theatre a year later. He has also served on the Board of Directors of the Network of Ensemble Theaters (NET). In 2013, he and his husband (founding member Andrew Schiff) moved to California, where Ryan continues writing and contributing to the ensemble theater movement.
Megan Campbell Lagas (Ensemble Member since 2012)
Born and raised in Minneapolis, Megan got her start in the world of theatre at age 14 when she performed in Tom Sawyer at the Children’s Theatre Company. She has worked with many local companies including 15 Head: a theatre lab, Illusion Theatre, Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Theatre Unbound, Theatre in the Round, and the Winding Sheet Outfit. Megan is passionate about bizarre, ensemble created theatre and is happy to have found a creative home with Sandbox Theatre.
She earned her BA in Theatre and MA in Education, both at the College of St. Catherine. Megan teaches elementary school for Saint Paul Public Schools. She lives with her husband, two sons, and multiple pets.
Megan has appeared in aphasiatica:duet, Zelda: Wonderland, War with the Newts, Suitcase, This Is A World To Live in, and will serve as co-Project Lead for Killer Inside.
Theo Langason (Ensemble Member since 2013)
Born and raised in Northeast Minneapolis, Theo Langason is a graduate of Rutgers University where he studied Theatre Arts. Since moving back to Minneapolis, Theo has worked with Theatre Pro Rata, The Mysterium, Red Eye Theatre and The Winding Sheet Outfit. Theo has appeared in Beatnik Giselle, Suitcase, and This Is A World To Live in.
Derek Lee Miller (Ensemble Member since 2008)
Derek is an actor, puppeteer, designer, writer and musician. He earned his BFA in acting and technical theatre at Millikin University in Decatur, IL. During his time there, he founded the Last Chance Theatre, an underground experimental black box space and was awarded the schoolís McNabb Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Theater.
Since then, Derek has toured nationally as a puppeteer for Madcap Puppets in Cincinnati, OH and regionally as an actor/educator for Twin Cities companies CLIMB, National Theatre for Children and Teatro del Pueblo. He was awarded two residencies at Yaddo Artists Colony in Saratoga Springs, NY for playwriting and was voted Outstanding Male Performance of the 2011 Minnesota Fringe Festival for his role in Red Resurrected. Derek was formerly the head writer for Perpetual Motion Theatre Company and is currently works with another ensemble theater group, Transatlantic Love Affair in Minneapolis. He was part of the ensemble of Transatlantic’s 2012 Ivey award-winning show, Ballad of the Pale Fisherman.
Derek appeared in Koogoomanooki, War With The Newts, The Horse, Bird, Monkey, and the Dancer, .faust, June of Arc/Oh, Father!, Unspeakable Things, FARGO, Beatnik Giselle, Suitcase and This Is A World To Live In. He worked as Project Lead for, Beatnik Giselle and Suitcase. A company member since 2008, he moved into the role of Artistic Director of Sandbox in 2013.
Heather Stone (Founding Member since 2004)
Heather has originated roles in every full scale Sandbox production but two. Her favorite roles are Victoria in Victoria in Red, Zelda Fitzgerald in Zelda: Wonderland, Mrs. Behrens in Koogoomanooki, the Fat Lady in War with the Newts and June Cleaver in June of Arc. She has also appeared on stage with many other Twin Cities theatres since 1994. Her first Sandbox directing experience came with The Oresteia Project: Queens and Daughters, a new ensemble piece created in collaboration with students at Hamline University, which she co-lead with Nicole Devereaux. Heather next directs Killer Inside. Heather is a coordinator of Sandbox’s LAB training program and leads Viewpoints training.

Nicole Devereaux (Ensemble Member 2010-2014)
Nicole began collaborating with theater and dance artists in the Twin Cities in 2006. She trained and performed with professional ballet and modern dance companies, as well as ensemble works of mime and physical theater. Nicole has co-directed Sandbox’s LAB artist training program, which included outreach as a consultant for Gustavus Adolphus College’s Machinal (spring 2013). Nicole performed in War With The Newts, .faust, Unspeakable Things, Beatnik Giselle (on which she was also a Project Lead) and co-directed The Oresteia Project.
She and her family are now located in Brooklyn, NY.
Lisa Kneller Moreira (Founding Member, 2004-2010, 2012)
Lisa Moreira is a collaborative theatre director, teacher, choreographer and mom. After receiving a scholarship to study with the Boston Ballet, Lisa continued to study dance at the University of Iowa, and then performing arts administration and arts in education at New York University. She first encountered collaborative, multi-disciplinary theater with 15 Head: a theatre lab, in Minneapolis, MN, and joined the company as an Artistic Associate.
Lisa directed the company-created Zelda: Wonderland, .faust, June of Arc, three short plays for aphasiatica:duet, and co-directed War with the Newts.
Andrew Lawrence Schiff (Founding Member, 2004-2012)
With arts degrees from UCLA and Otis College of Art and Design, Andrew spent over 20 years as a professional artist and fashion designer in Los Angeles, New York and Minneapolis. Andrew designed costumes for Sandbox’s first 8 productions. In 2011 he left the corporate world to follow his passion as a pastry chef, two years later he and his husband Ryan moved back to Andrew’s home town of Oakland.
