Nicole Devereaux

Nicole Devereaux was a classically trained ballerina working towards a career in politics until she discovered acting and modern dance at Gustavus Adolphus College. She graduated magna cum laude, got married, started a church, and then decided to start performing. After working with ARENA Dances and Paula Mann Dance, Nicole understudied in The Ordway Center for Performing Arts'Love, Janis; performed with Cromulent Shakespeare Company and Hardcover Theater; toured with PUSH Physical Theatre (Rochester, NY); and began her relationship with Sandbox as Andy Scheuzer in War with the Newts. She collaborated with Sandbox artists Ryan Hill, Lisa Moreira, and Tim Donahue on The Island (Twin Cities Chekhov Festival), was chosen by Tino Sehgal to present his exhibit instead of allowing some things to rise up to your face dancing bruce and dan and other things (Walker Art Center), and performed with Theatre Unbound, before giving birth to her daughter in 2008. Nicole continues to work with freelance directors (Genevieve Bennett, Paul von Stoetzel), excitedly reunited for Sandbox’s .faust, and looks forward to enjoying her home as an ensemble member of Sandbox Theatre.
